Prepare Your Pipes for Cold Weather
The beginning of January 2018 saw some of the coldest temperatures on record, and there were several days in a row when the temperatures dipped to the single digits. For those homeowners who weren’t prepared, this meant burst pipes resulting in thousands of dollars in damage. Even pipes that were insulated, or under cabinets, were not safe from the plunging temperatures. SERVPRO of Hackensack/Little Ferry answered a great many calls from home and business owners who suffered water damage due to these freezing pipes. To avoid frozen pipes, make sure you make the proper preparations - like wrapping exposed pipes, turning off water when leaving your home for extended periods and opening cabinets under sinks to allow for warmer air. If you DO need us, we are always here to help!
