Rainy Fall Affects Sewers and then Homes
The entire autumn season saw an above average amount of rain in most of New Jersey, especially in Bergen County which contains many rivers and the Meadowlands. The abundance of rain and wind created saturated ground and major flooding, causing trees in many areas to uproot and take down power lines. With the loss of power in many homes, coupled with extreme water run-off, sewer lines backed up and sump pumps either failed due to loss of power or could not keep up with the water intake. SERVPRO of Hackensack/Little Ferry has experience restoring businesses and homes affected by storms and flooding.
